Tired of traditional networking? Me too.
Join us and shape a creative community for genuine connection, collaboration and learning.
Intentionally neurodivergent and introvert-friendly. Melbourne’s never had anything quite like this.

I never liked traditional networking. Or small talk. After-work industry events in loud spaces would often leave me feeling drained. Many times, I would be the only person in the room with a migrant background and an accent, observing how quickly my value was assessed based on my job title, words someone else allocated to me in systems I didn’t help create.
And I always craved more, and missed the buzz of talking to genuine, creative and giving people. To simply exchange ideas, share the good and the bad, in a no-pressure environment. To take the time to listen. To belong. To exhale. To drop my shoulders because I finally feel safe.
While working from home most of 2025, I started to feel restless and isolated. Something had to change. Getting stuck in my own head didn’t feel great. Going to coworking spaces for a change of scenery helped, but the community and connection part was still missing. I couldn’t find the event I craved, so I created one. That’s how it all started – and now growing, thanks to you.
Comms & Marketing Coworking day is like going from a Blackberry to an iPhone, just for industry events.
Jen V, Communications Manager
It is the connection event I never knew I needed, but I did.
Who this is for: Communications, marketing and creative professionals of all levels and backgrounds who are tired of transactional networking and crave a community where they can belong, as they are.
After years of running events, as part of my comms roles, and as a volunteer and board member for industry membership organisations, I’ve seen how rare the true sense of belonging can be.
Visibility and access matter, but are rarely considered. Values alignment is the foundation for feeling safe and accepted, and it’s not enough to just work in the same industry.
How we do things differently:

We are a fantastic mix of in-house professionals, established and emerging consultants, freelancers, marketing, socials and community leaders, event planners and marcomms generalists. As well as professional career coaches, facilitators and creatives.

There is so much talent, generosity and experience in the room and nothing this group can’t figure out together. Join us!
Deep networking and community
The Coworking day is a blend of deep networking and community like no other. Walk in keen to meet like minded business owners and professionals and walk out buzzing with ideas for new collaborations.

Great conversations and collaborations
Great conversations, meeting new collaborators and a chance to get out of the house to spend the day in an energy-packed space? The Comms & Marketing Coworking Day delivered all of this and more. As a solo operator, it’s great to have a chance to build community with like minded professionals. I’m looking forward to future coworking days!

Life-changing
The coworking day literally changed my life. After leaving a long-standing job, I knew I was looking for new opportunities – what I didn’t realise was that I was also looking for a community. I got all of that and more.
Jen Vuk, Communications Manager
Perfect for those who don’t like traditional networking
The comms and marketing co-working days are a great way to network even for those that don’t like, or are uncomfortable, networking.
Ross Monaghan, Deakin University Lecturer and AI Consultant
A supportive community
What a beautiful day it was! Thank you for your vision and passion in creating such supportive communities – exactly what we all need more of right now. ✨ Looking forward to the next one!

Arrival is between 9-9.30 am. At 10 am, we open the day with a connection session. During lunch or after, we enjoy a learning / facilitation session. All sessions are an invitation, not an obligation. There is no pressure to participate. You will see the full agenda and the topics for the day when you sign up for the event.
The coworking day is held at Waterman Collins Street, Level 2/260 Collins St. This premium coworking space is open 9am-5pm. All coworking desks have screens – how amazing is that!
It’s 100% up to you how much you’d like to participate during the day. If you have a busy day, you are welcome to focus (bring your headphones or use the quiet zone), and perhaps use your lunch break to connect with others. You can also invite someone from the group for a coffee or walk during the day. Remember, we are all there to connect and meet you.
Please email me in that case, before purchasing the ticket. Use the Contact page on the website.
You are welcome to BYO lunch or get something in one of many CBD venues. You will get a day pass for the venue, which ensures 9-5 access to everything the premium coworking space offers, including balcony and kitchen. The venue is walking distance to many restaurants and cafes. We usually decide on the day what to do for lunch and understand people might have meetings or limited time. Again, no pressure to eat together if you need a moment to decompress.
Please read the event details on the TryBooking page.
Definitely not. We’ve hosted in-house professionals from various organisations. If you work for an employer, why not use your WFH day and come to the coworking space instead? No laundry or dishes to worry about.
